Hailing from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Richie Young has been an active force on the music scene since 2015.
Blending raw energy with authentic songwriting, Richie delivers an original rock sound through his unique one-man band setup — combining vocals, electric guitar, harmonica, bass drum, and a handmade foot snare.
Over the years, Richie has toured across Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes, and has performed at major festivals including the Harvest Festival, Living Roots, Festival (506), Evolve, Area 506, Midsummer, Inspire, and many more.

July 8, 9, 10 and 11 at 8:30 and also July 11 at 2 pm – “Conundrum – an Improv Murder Mystery” – a new hybrid improv-theatre show written and directed by Tolkien Merrigan. This brash and hysterical show is scripted up to about halfway through when a heinous murder is committed- and everything after that point is entirely improvised. Based on audience suggestions and hilarious stakes, each night is totally different. Join a cast of over-the-top characters as they descend into absolute foolishness. Recommended for mature audiences only. No two performances will be the same!

Saturday, July 11 from 9 am to noon – Indigenous Artist-in-Residence Nicole Porter at the Sackville Farmers’ Market. A free event, no need to book in advance, drop in between 9 am and noon.
Nicole will be demonstrating the Mi’kmaq art of porcupine quillwork and giving people the opportunity to try their hand at quilling.
Mi’kmaq porcupine quill work is a time-honored, intricate art form utilizing softened,dyed porcupine quills to decorate birch bark and other material. For centuries, it has served as both a culturally significant craft and a testament to the remarkable patience, skill, and artistry of the Mi’kmaq people.
Nicole will demonstrate and talk about the process of gathering the bark, quills, preparing the material and how to quill onto birch bark.

July 11th at 8 pm – Talel McBrier at Duckys
Raised in rural British Columbia, Talel McBriar weaves together sounds of traditional folk with alternative indie-rock. Guided by haunting melodies and dreamy vocals, Talel’s lyrics ruminate on the landscapes of both outer influences and inner thoughts. Originally performing in the duo Ella and Talel, their song October earned them the Kootenay Music Award for Best Original Roots Song in 2018, which marked the start of Talel’s growing presence in the BC indie-folk music scene. Since then, she has performed extensively across Canada, warming stages and performing at folk festivals such as Khatsahlano Street Party, Campbell Bay Music Festival, and Tiny Lights Festival. As her following grows, Talel is carving out a space for herself as an honest songwriter and authentic voice in the Canadian folk music scene.

Learn the basics of story structure, writing with our senses, finding inspiration, and much more! Everyone writes differently: Participants are welcome to bring their preferred writing tools, such as paper, pencils, or journals (extra materials will be provided). Young writers also can bring a short piece of their own writing to practice receiving and giving constructive feedback. This is a supportive and low-stakes workshop! Saturday, July 18 – 6 pm at the Bandstand in Bill Johnson Park – “The Complete History of the Eddy Rebellion/Battle of Fort Cumberland in Ten Minutes or Less” – a family funny play telling the story of the attempt by Colonel Jonathan Eddie to capture Fort Cumberland and to turn Nova Scotia into the 14th colony of the United States (spoiler alert, he lost!). Ten minutes of fast paced mayhem, hitting all the high points of the story. Plus the formation of North America, the arrival and departure of the Acadians, and more!

Saturday, July 18 – presentation of “Sirens of Song – Legendary Female Voices From the Maritimes” by Charlie Rhindress and featuring Theresa Malenfont
Sirens of Song is a musical Tribute Show celebrating over a dozen extraordinary female singer/songwriters from Canada’s Maritime provinces. An all female five piece band, including New Brunswick’s Queen of the Blues, Theresa Malenfant, will perform over twenty songs made famous by women from Canada’s East Coast, including Anne Murray, Rita MacNeil, Shirley Eikhard, Sarah McLachlan, Carroll Baker Holly Cole, Patsy Gallant, and Theresa Malenfant. Best-selling author, Charlie Rhindress, will host the evening sharing stories about these amazing female performers and reading from his musical biographies which feature many of these women. The evening is a celebration of Canada’s East Coast, its incredible female voices, and the music that has been the soundtrack to our lives. The show includes songs like “Snow Bird,” “Working Man,” “Angel,” “Something to Talk About,” “From New York to L.A.,” and “You Needed Me,” and covers musical genres from country and rock to folk, opera and Celtic.

“Now and Forever,” a musical tribute to Anne Murray, created and hosted by Charlie Rhindress hosted and created by Charlie Rhindress.
The show features stories from Anne’s life as well as 20 of her greatest hits performed by Jennie Del Motte, Mirren Lithwick, Heather MacIntyre and Carley Varner-Joudrey.

July 21, 7:30 pm – presentation of concert at Greenslades music venue – Ethan W. Olsen from Boston, and The Quilter’s Guild from Toronto.
Ethan W. Olsen (fka Ethan WL) is a Musician and Experimental Filmmaker from Boston, MA. He has released two albums in the American Primitive Guitar style: “Blood Farm” (2024) and “The Pink House” (2023). His third solo album, “My God is a Consuming Fire,” is forthcoming with Carbon Records this summer.
The Quilter’s Guild combines the talents of Mike T. Kerr and Lotus Wight, creating a concoction of instruments and influences, each avenue explored down to its root by these unique musicians. While both in high demand as performers in their respective chosen fields – Wight in the folk and old-time festival circuit and Kerr as a highly in-demand guitarist on Toronto’s live music scene – their shared passion for music history and rare recordings have given common musical ground together as performers. Mike’s guitar playing recalls the entire history of the instrument while Lotus explores adventurously through many folkloric styles, handmade contraptions, and heartfelt stories.
